Almighty Father, source of forgiveness and salvation, grant that our relatives and friends who have passed from this life may, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of all the saints, come to share Your eternal happiness through Christ our Lord. Amen.
O holy souls in Purgatory, who are the certain heirs of heaven, souls most dear to Jesus as the trophies of His precious blood, and to Mary, mother of mercy, obtain for me, through your intercession, the grace to lead a holy life, to die a happy death, and to attain the blessedness of eternity in heaven.
Dear suffering souls, who languish in your prison of pain and long to be delivered in order to praise and glorify God in heaven, by your unfailing pity, help me at this time, [State your intention(s) here . . .] that I may obtain relief and assistance from God. In gratitude for your intercession, I offer to God, on your behalf, the satisfactory merits of all my works and sufferings of this day/week/month (the time that you determine).
God our Father, Your power brings us to birth, Your providence guides our lives, and by Your command, we return to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence, their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for my family, relatives, friends, and for all the dead known to You alone. In company with Christ, who died and now lives, may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family, to sing Your praise forever and ever. Amen.
O merciful God, take pity on those souls who have no particular friends and intercessors to recommend them to Thee, who, either through the negligence of those who are alive, or through the length of time, are forgotten by their friends and by all. Spare them, O Lord, and remember Thine own mercy when others forget to appeal to it. Let not the souls Thou hast created be parted from thee, their Creator. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
O Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory, deliver the souls of all the faithful departed from the pains of the bottomless pit; deliver them from the lion’s mouth, that hell not swallow them up, that they fall not into darkness, but let the holy standard bearer Michael bring them into that holy light that You promised to Abraham and his seed.
Most glorious Saint Joseph, blessed spouse of Mary, you who merited to be chosen as the guardian of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, and who, whilst embracing Him affectionately, did have a foretaste of the bliss of heaven, I beseech you, obtain for me full pardon of my sins and the grace of imitating your virtues, so that I may ever walk in the path that leads to eternal happiness. As you had the privilege of having Jesus and Mary by your deathbed, and in their arms did breathe forth your soul, I earnestly pray you to protect me from the enemies of my soul in that last moment, so that consoled by the sweet hope of Heaven, I may expire pronouncing the most Holy names of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Amen.
